Andrés is part of the Banking and Consumer practices in Latin America and leads the McKinsey Center for Government (MCG) in the region. He is a member of the McKinsey Global Institute board, which provides advice on global economic, technological, and business trends, and also leads the firm's work on economic development and sustainable cities in Latin America.
Since joining McKinsey in 1997, Andrés has led more than 250 client projects, with a focus on national and local governments, multilateral organizations, financial institutions, and consumer-goods companies.

- Supporting the implementation of a strategic plan for the development of various industrial sectors in a Latin American country.
- Leading a study to analyze the competitive position, identify future opportunities, and propose a strategy for a Latin American country.
- Participating in a study for a nonprofit organization during a strategic planning initiative.
- Contributing to the development of the asset management business of a major financial group.
- Developing the pilot of the new business model for a bank's network.
- Conducting a diagnostic of the development and maintenance of system area applications in a bank.
- Participating in a support study during a post-merger process of two banks.
Andrés serves on the boards of a number of nonprofit organizations that focus on education, economic development, and social services in his native Colombia. He has spoken on finance and organization topics at several international conferences.
